Mighty Hammer here again with some more of my thoughts on Mario Kart Wii. Firstly let me say Mario Kart Wii, although not being fabulous graphics-wise, is a whole new experience with the online flavour, great fun as I have already said in a previous posting, it's absolutely brilliant. BUT there's one thing I have a problem with - the Mii... Comment | Quote |

Mario Kart Wii's a fine game, of that there's no doubt. But what on earth have Nintendo done with the introduction of those tight-turning, corner-cutting, cheating, wheelie-ing bikes? Head inside for our full feelings on this touchy subject... Comments (2) | Quote |

Hey folks, It's me - the Mighty Hammer, dropping in to give my piece on Mario Kart Wii! Noddingdog asked me to write what I thought so it's my pleasure to get a bit of stardom! OK, might be a bit late but on the second of the release date I was there. Grabbed the game, threw money at the checkout guy and ran flat out for my Wii console. Quick video of the unpacking (that's standard, isn't it?) and straight in and away we go... Comment | Quote |

Whilst Princess Daisy may forever be branded as a character reintroduced solely as a doubles partner for Peach in Mario Tennis - just as Waluigi was for Wario - she's actually a veteran of the series, dating back to 1989's Super Mario Land. But does she let that perceived bad name affect her racing skills? We investigate in today's Character Review! Comment | Quote |

This article is a message to a player I, D007, recently faced in Mario Kart Wii online. He is a Japanese racer and I cannot spell his name since it is spelt in Japanese wording, but I ask him to contact me if he wants to race any more. He is a proficient and honourable racer who uses items well. To the Japanese racer: after some racing, it was my Rainbow Road, I lost, and then your GBA Bowser Castle 3, which I won, and then Mushroom Gorge. I appreciate your honourable nature, and if you want to race again, I would be glad to add you to my friend list. Thank you! Well well well, it seems that FullHealth is returning into full flow, and baby, this time we’re Back in Black! (Sorry, had to use that reference.) Anyway, I’m just here for a quick lowdown on the latest Nintendo game, Mario Kart Wii. This is my review, but please bear in mind I haven’t unlocked all the characters/karts (c’mon, be honest, does it really matter?) Click inside for my impressions plus a sweet new announcement! Ah, Wario... many a great time we’ve spent together... but what went wrong, eh? You used to be top of the class, A* material across the board. But now you’re just churning out ‘quirky’ microgame collections and you’ve forgotten your roots, lad. Why have you ditched the awesome platforming that made me love you more than that red dude with the ‘M’ on his forehead? Ah well, here’s my review for the last of the great days of Wario... What better way to spend another card-less, bitter Valentine’s Day than to sit down with the most sour humoured and twisted series of the past century? Ah yes, love is in the air, along with the flesh of a thousand dead Mudokons. What, you don’t know what a Mudokon is? Sit down, dear child, and I’ll tell ye a story... Comment | Quote |

When it comes to pure fun, classic platform gaming, Super Mario Bros. (1985) is the game that defines the genre - the age-old theme of defeat the big baddie, rescue the princess and save the kingdom has been reused and rehashed countless times ever since. But even with today's era of photorealistic visuals and supercharged audio, the classic pixelled plumber has lost none of his appeal, with real Mario masters notching down times of around 6 minutes from arrival to ax.
So just how does one achieve those blisteringly quick pad-pummeling times? Comments (2) | Quote |
